Preschool is a program designed for two, three, and four year old children, and includes the participation of their caregivers. On Sunday mornings, children and caregivers sing songs, play games, say prayers, share a snack, and learn about how special they are in God's world.
Children's Liturgy of the Word is celebrated during the 9:30 AM Sunday Mass. Following the opening prayer, the younger members of the parish (ages three to reception of First Eucharist) are invited to journey to a separate space to "Break Open the Word" in familiar language. The children rejoin their families for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Children in Grades K through 5 study their faith in a way that expands to include basic Catholic prayers, practices, and teachings. Families are invited to participate in the 9:30 AM Mass, followed by classes.
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation and celebration traditionally occurs in 2nd grade. However, older children and youth who have not yet celebrated these sacraments are also encouraged to enter our preparation process.
Youth in Junior High (Grades 6-8) continue their faith formation by exploring topics and themes through creative mini-courses throughout the year. They also explore various aspects of the liturgical year. Sessions for junior high youth are offered on Monday and Tuesday evenings. |
