Adult Faith Formation Program

Adult Faith Formation is a series of programs, classes, and events offered throughout the course of the year that allows adults to come together to pray, reflect, and share with one another so as to enhance their personal and communal faith development. Current program outline is available at the right. They require Adobe Reader to open (.pdf files).

ADULT FAITH FORMATION

“Be proud of your Catholic faith. Find ways to learn and grow in understanding of our history and the teachings of the Church. Participate in adult formation in your parish and share all that you learn with others” (Catholics Come Home – Chicago)

Lent-Easter Season:

This year our adult faith formation offering will span the seasons of Lent and Easter. We will begin a three-year study of The United States Catholic Catechism for Adults as recommended by the Bishops in their Pastoral --“Our Hearts were Burning Within Us“. We will begin with Part I. The Creed: the Faith Professed this year and follow that with the Sacraments and Prayer next year, and then Christian Morality in the third year. The cost for the book is $25.00

Lenten Season – US Catholic Catechism for Adults – Part I: Chap 1-5

2/18 -- 2/25 -- 3/4 – 3/18 – 3/25

Easter Season – US Catholic Catechism for Adults – Part I: Chap 6-13

4/8 -- 4/15 – 4/22 – 4/29 – 5/6 – 5/13 – 5/20 – 5/27

This is an excellent opportunity to reconnect with what the church teaches, believes, and practices. It will also provide a reference guide for the future. A copy of the registration form is available on the page, e-mail it in to us (peery@olbparish.org), or drop by the RE Offices to register. Please return the form ASAP if you plan to participate so that we have enough books on hand.

Mark your calendars!! The next Women’s Day of Reflection is planned for Saturday, April 10 at Techny with Sister Mary Ruth Broz. The title is "A Spring Day of Renewal...Women Sowing Seeds of Change". Sr. Mary Ruth notes “As we gather this week after Easter, we will be invited to turn over the earth of our own lives, share some of the wisdom we have gleaned along the way, listen for where new life is stirring, and take heart from those women who have gone before us and who have taught us the importance of sowing seeds of change.” See our posters in the social area!
