Parish New Early Childhood Center in Glenview
Open Arms Christian Child Development Center recently opened in Glenview. They offer daycare from early morning until 6:30 pm for children age 6 weeks to kindergarten. Literacy Tutors Needed The Adult ESL/Literacy Program at Oakton Community College is in need of tutors for the summer term. Many adult members of our community need help improving basic reading, writing or speaking skills. You can help a reader blossom. The VITA Program of Oakton College in Skokie needs you. Healing Service at Addolorata Villa
We are awaiting the future schedule. This service is for those who are seriously ill with disease. Addolorata is located at 555 McHenry Road in Wheeling. For more information call (847) 537-2900. Career Resource Center - a nonprofit organization that provides professional assistance to individuals in employment transition. CRC's mission is to empower clients to conduct an effective job search. See Web site for further information. NORTHFIELD TOWNSHIP FOOD PANTRY . . . shelves are almost bare. Most needed items include, pasta, canned meat and fish, boxed meals, instant mashed potatoes, rice, coffee, tea, juices and all paper products. Food can be dropped off at the Northfield Township office at 3801 W. Lake Avenue in Glenview between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Almost 200 local households are certified to use the Northfield Township Food Pantry, which relies on donations to meet this need. No tax dollars are used to provide groceries. Also needed are volunteers to work at the pantry. Regular schedules are preferred but hours can be flexible for anyone interested. Please call Michelle Wilson at 847.724.8300.MEALS ON WHEELS NEEDS YOU Catholic Charities is in need of volunteer drivers to deliver meals to homebound seniors throughout Northern Cook County and Lake County, but especially in the Northbrook/Glenview area. Delivery routes typically require about 1 and 1.5 hours of your time, take place during lunch hour Monday - Friday and you can volunteer as infrequently as once per month or as often as you want.
