It's all Green at Art of Recycling Day July 25

kid on recycle truck 2Be sure to join us for our 2nd annual Art of Recycling Day  Wed., July 25, in Our Lady of the Brook church parking lot, 3700 Dundee Road.
Sponsored by Veolia
Environmental Services, Northbrook's waste hauler, the event has grown significantly to include a number of recycling and community groups to help us focus on living greener:
  • The midway will be lined with booths of "recycle artists" who offer one-of-a-kind upcycled and repurposed treasures. All items for sale are made with at least 50% materials that would have gone into our landfills, but now are usable, wearable and/or aesthetically pleasing objects. Find a "new" treasure!
  • In keeping with the recycling theme, Northbrook's Good Will Industries will place a drop box for residents to donate clothing and shoes. Apparel items only please.
  • Residents may drop off old paint, electronics, batteries and other household items in the Northfield Township Road District's collection vehicles. Paper shredding will be available also. For more info visit: http://northfieldtownship.com/recycling-program.html
  • Veolia  will offer tours of their natural gas-powered recycling truck and hand out information on recycling to help reduce our village's waste stream.

Please mark your calendar for Aug. 22
The market will be moving its location starting Aug. 22.
We will be moving to
Northbrook United Methodist Church, Cherry & Western.
